Replacing the Route 224 bridge is one of the projects included in the Ohio Turnpike Commission’s $254 million 2024 budget.

The span crosses the toll road in Canfield, carrying more than 29,000 cars and trucks daily.

The commission also plans to resurface six miles of the pike in Beaver and Springfield Townships and complete pavement work at Eastgate Toll Plaza.

In addition, the planned 2024 capital expenditures include completing the toll collection system modernization program and designing, furnishing, and installing Intelligent Transportation System cameras and signboards along the Ohio Turnpike’s mainline.
