Sentencing dates set for three convicted of Rowan Sweeney murder
Sentencing dates have been scheduled for all three men convicted for their role in the September 21, 2020, home invasion in Struthers that resulted in the shooting death of four-year-old Rowan Sweeney.
Brandon Crump, who was found guilty of murder, attempted murder, and felonious assault earlier this month, has a March 19 sentencing hearing.
Kimonie Bryant who pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, is set to appear for sentencing on April 18.
Andre McCoy Jr., who pleaded guilty to murder is scheduled for sentencing on April 30
All the sentences are in the courtroom of Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Anthony D’Apolito.
He was also found guilty of the attempted murder and felonious assault of Andre McCoy, Yarnell Green, Alexis Schneider, and Cassandra Marsicola, as well as aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and conspiracy.
Investigators say Crump, along with Bryant, went into a home on Perry Street with plans to commit a robbery.
Police say the trio knew that a resident of the home, Yarnell Green Jr., had recently received a check for several thousand dollars in federal pandemic unemployment assistance funds.
According to authorities, Green was shot several times while trying to run away.
A woman sitting in a kitchen chair, Cassandra Marsicola, was shot three times during the robbery.
Also shot were Alexis Schneider and her 4-year-old son Rowan Sweeney, who was sitting on a couch at the time.
Green, who would have been a witness in the case, was later fatally shot in a separate incident in Youngstown.
Authorities say McCoy Junior, who was also shot that night, was linked to the crime.
