Washingtonville man gets more than a decade in prison for role in Lisbon murder

A Washingtonville man has pleaded guilty to charges connected to the March 2023 murder of a Lisbon man.
Christopher Mills, 43, pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of obstruction of justice, conspiracy to commit murder and firearm specifications.
The Columbiana County Prosecutor's Office recommended a 13-year sentence.
The judge sentenced Mills immediately to 13-18 years in prison followed by two to five years probation once he's released.
Mills was suspected of being an accomplice in the murder of 40-year-old Rusty Steele, who was shot and killed on March 3, 2023. Michael Blower, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of unclassified murder with firearm specifications on January 18, 2024.
Steele was shot and killed on West Spruce Street in Lisbon after an alleged argument with Blower.
The victim's mother spoke to the court during sentencing.
"I don't think it's enough," she said. "I want to see him locked up. I want this to be over with so I don't have to come back here anymore and ever have to deal with it. I don't think its enough time."
Police say Blower got a ride to Lisbon from Mills and shot Steele in the chest when he got there. Authorities said Blower and Steele had a relationship with the same woman at different points in their lives.
