Tolnar primed for national drive, chip & putt contest

Preston Tolnar of Canfield will be on golf's biggest stage Sunday.
He's one of ten finalists in the 7-9 age category in the National Drive, Chip & Putt contest at Augusta National.
"It's feels awesome and I think it's going to be an awesome time," said Tolnar during a recent practice session.
Tolnar qualified for the national finals last fall at Scioto Country Club.
"It's my fist time going to Augusta and its going to be my favorite moment," he continued.
Tolnar is the son of Brian & Amber and Brian is the Director of Golf at Mill Creek Park. "I think as a parent and his caddy, number one you want to make it fun and its all about having fun and enjoying the experience," said the elder Tolnar.
The competition will be televised by Golf Channel and Preston's group is expected to compete between at 10:45 am Sunday.
"Only 10 kids have the opportunity to go there and no matter how it plays out, just having the opportunity to walk off the 18th green, where the champions walk off , I think is very, very, special," said Brian.
Scoring is determined on three drives in a 40 yard fairway, three chips from 10-15 yards and three putts from 6 feet, 15 & 30 feet.
"I practice a lot and you have to work hard to get to Augusta," said Preston adding he practices for 2 and half hours a day.
"It's like going to Disneyland," said Brian. "Just to have Preston compete at the highest level, to play the world's best juniors and to say you stepped foot on Augusta at age 9 is unbelievable."
