Health organizations across the Mahoning Valley are coming together to celebrate HOPE week in honor of Mental Health Month this week.

HOPE stands for Health Outcomes from Positive Experiences, which looks to shift how people see and talk about positive experiences that support children's growth and develop into resilient adults.

The week also highlights organizations and their offerings of hope-centered, trauma-informed initiatives in the area, according to a news release from Stand Grow Thrive.

Stand Grow Thrive is an organization working to offer support for people dealing with trauma, while dispelling its myths, it's also promoting recognition and celebration of this week to several communities and organizations throughout the valley.

It begins Sunday, May 19, and goes through Saturday, May 25.
