Due to the deadly explosion at the Realty Building and the subsequent closures around the city- Simply Slavic has announced it is relocating this year's festivities.

The downtown festival will now be held at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre and will happen June 14 from 5 to 11 p.m. and June 15 from noon to midnight.

“Knowing the importance of this event to the City of Youngstown, and specifically Downtown, we felt it was important to reach out to the event organizers and city admin to offer any possible support to ensure it takes place,” said Jared Laczko, Marketing & Sales Manager JAC Live.

The festival will still offer the same food, beverages, vendors, and performers as it has in previous years.

However, the move means there will only be one entrance to get into the event. Security will be at the entrance to check bags and burses. Pets are not permitted to enter the area unless they are service animals, according to a news release from Simply Slavic.

Admission to the event will be $5 for everyone. Children under 12 will be admitted for free.
