Penguins open summer practice with more than 100 players

Youngstown State opened summer camp with more 100 players in coach Doug Phillips 5th season.
The Penguins went through a two hour work out in helmets.
"Its day one and we have to get a lot better," quipped Phillips after practice.
Their are more than 40 new faces in practice and Phillips says the start of building a culture starts now and when they leave after 24 more practices that should be place.
Running back Tyshon King says the first practice went as expected.
"I feel we had a good day. Their weren't a lot of mistakes and it was just trying to get our legs underneath us, but from a technique standpoint we had a good day."
Phillips and his staff have some work to do on defense where every position is open.
"You have to come in and earn it. You have 24 more practices to earn it and no one is going to get anointed. What I want to see at the end of camp who rises up in that competition."
The Penguins practice the rest of the week and go in full pads, Monday , August 5th.
