ODOT proposes rehabilitation of two bridges in Mesopotamia Township in Trumbull County

MESOPOTAMIA TWP., Ohio - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has proposed rehabilitation on two bridges in Mesopotamia Township in Trumbull County.
According to a press release, ODOT plans to to rehabilitate the existing bridges on SR-534 over Andrews Creek between Clark Road and Parks West Road and on SR-534 over Mill Creek just north of Sweet West Road.
Work will consist of replacing the existing concrete beams and deck, as well as guardrail replacement, pavement replacement and traffic signage.
The project is currently is in its preliminary engineering phase with construction expected to begin in the fall of 2026.
During the construction, at least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction with the exception of a 45-day period where each project site will be closed to both directions of traffic.
These 45-day closures will not happen simultaneously at both project sites.
During the 45-day period for the respective sites, the detour for Clark Road and Parks West Road will utilize SR-88, SR-45 and SR-87 and the detour for Sweet West Road will be SR-87, SR-45 and Route 322 in Ashtabula County.
Access to all properties, businesses, schools, etc. will be maintained during the projects.
