Teen accused in murder of 22-year-old man in Youngstown to be tried as an adult

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A 19-year-old who is accused of being involved in the shooting death of a 22-year-old man in Youngstown back in 2022 will be tried as an adult.
Nineteen-year-old Jacoby Walker is one of three suspects in the shooting death of 22-year-old Isiah Helms, whose body was found at the Mt. Hope Veterans Memorial Cemetery in February of 2022 shortly after Helms was reported missing.
Walker's case began in juvenile court because he was 17 years old at the time of the crime. Juvenile court records show that his case has now been bound over to adult court and will remain in the Mahoning County Jail.
Walker is facing multiple charges including aggravated murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Two others have already been convicted in this case with Jamiyah Brooks receiving a sentence of 17-and-a-half to 22 years in prison on charges of voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence.
Nathaniel Austin Jr. was also convicted of Tampering With Evidence and was sentenced to three years in prison.
There is no word yet on when Walker's first hearing in adult court will be.
