Penn State Shenango hosted it's 13th annual Dr. Jane A. Williams Memorial 5K run Saturday afternoon.

The run brought out families, Penn State alumni, and students, including some members of the cross country team.

Runners could take part in the 5K, or opt for the 1 mile walk.

Since its inception in 2012, more than $165,000 has been raised from the event, which goes toward scholarships for students.

"The Jane Williams legacy is so strong and you can't go wrong investing in the future of the Shenango Valley region," said Penn State Beaver and Shenango Regional Chancellor Carey McDougall.

Dr. Williams was a 25-year employee of Penn State Shenango, before passing away in 2012.

"She loved the students, she loved the campus and the staff, and I know that she's pleased because of the race and that's the most important thing," said Jane's husband, Don Williams.
