Cardinal Mooney and Youngstown State graduate Donald D'Alesio is living out a dream.

Not only does he have two Super Bowl rings as an assistant coach with the Kansas City Chiefs....he's looking for a third this Sunday in Super Bowl LIX.

"We don't take it for granted and its something we're trying to capitalize on because we know this doesn't happen often," said D'Alesio during a break from his hotel in New Orleans.

The valley native won a state high school football championship with Cardinal Mooney in 2009, was an assistant coach  with Youngstown State in 2016 when they played in the FCS Championship game and has been on the Chiefs staff for four years and two NFL championships.

"Never in million years would I believe I'm here, but here I am, "said D'Alesio.  "I owe everything to Youngstown, Ohio, starting with my family and everyone else that impacted me throughout my life. Their are way to many people to name but they know who they are and I'm forever thankful."

While the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl for the third straight year, the Eagles are in it for the second time in three seasons.

"I think it's going to be another good one. Two great teams trying to battle to see who can win it. There's a lot of talent on that football team," D'Alesio said in reference to the Eagles.

D'Alesio has fulfilled a dream in a very short time coaching and we wondered what's next?

"Hopefully a third one ," he said in reference to another ring.  "You'd go down in the history books of the first team ever to do something like this and to be able to do it at the highest level in football is what we're all working for."

D'Alesio said right now that's the missing piece, but ended by adding, "currently."
