The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation has released a statement in response to the latest developments on Hamas's release of the bodies of Israeli hostages.

This statement comes after the revelation that two young Israeli hostages, Kfir and Ariel Bibas had been released by Hamas, but another body released was not that of the children's mother like the group had promised.

The Jewish Federation said they are "appalled, outraged and disgusted" by this revelation calling Hamas's move "cruel and deceitful psychological warfare" against not only the Bibas family, but Israel and the Jewish community.

"Not only did these terrorists kidnap Kfir and Ariel Bibas, two young children—aged just nine months and four years—but forensic evidence shows they brutally murdered them roughly a month into their captivity. Further, they lied about returning the body of their mother, Shiri, adding to the immense pain of the family," the statement reads.

"For over 500 days, we have prayed for the safe return of every single hostage stolen from their homeland and torn away from their loved ones by Hamas terrorists. We are outraged at this vicious attack, and we're angry that much of the world, including many international agencies, have not reacted with outrage," the statement continues.

The Jewish Federation went on to offer its condolences to the Bibas family, as well as the family of 84-year-old Odef Lifshitz, whose body was returned to Israel, and went on to call for the 73 remaining hostages to be released.

"There are still 73 people being held captive. They must come home," the statement reads.
