A Campbell man was indicted on several felony counts and one misdemeanor on Thursday.

Maxwell Horne, 32, was indicted on two counts of assault (F4) and one count of resisting arrest (M2).

There is no word when Horne is set to be seen in court again at this time.

Horne was arrested when police found him standing in the middle of Murray Avenue near Jefferson Street with his thumb elevated as if asking for a ride.

When officers spoke with Horne, they noticed he appeared to be intoxicated. When asked where he was going, he said that he was going to Penhale Avenue, but was walking in the wrong direction.

During this interaction, Horne repeatedly put his hands in his pockets despite officers telling him not to, according to police. Horne was then placed under arrest.

Police say that while he was handcuffed, he attempted to pull away from officers and refused to get in the cruiser. Police say he also attempted to kick one of the officers on scene.

Once Horne was back at the station, police say that he was lying on the floor of a holding cell drawing an "Anarchy A" symbol with his own blood on a heater.

Police say that when they attempted to move Horne to a new holding cell, he got into a fighting stance and started wrestling with officers. At one point, he allegedly punched one officer in the cheek and another in the nose.

Horne originally faced charges of assault on a peace officer, vandalism, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and soliciting.
