Liberty High School baseball field set to be renovated and renamed

The Liberty High School baseball field will soon be receiving renovations - including a name change.
The renovations are possible due to the generosity of Joe DeSalvo and DeSalvo Construction, according to a news release. DeSalvo is donating both time and materials for the renovation project which will help improve the facility.
In recognition of the contributions, the field will be renamed DeSalvo Field.
The picture above shows the field as it stands before the construction.
Key upgrades listed in the news release include the following:
- A 42-foot by 12-foot home-side dugout, with 12 feet dedicated to a storage shed for equipment
- A 30-foot by 12-foot visitor-side dugout, which would provide a better experience for athletes and visiting teams
- Fence repairs and enhancements to improve safety and aesthetics of the field
- Upgraded electrical work, which would ensure functionality for both games and practices.
A dedication ceremony is planned for April 7 to unveil the completed work on the project and honor Joe DeSalvo and the others that contributed to the renovation project.
The dedication ceremony is planned just before the first pitch of the Liberty High School Leopards opening game against Crestview on April 7, but is subject to change pending construction.
DeSalvo has also enlisted the help of a few others for this project, including:
- Jason Erb of Erb Construction to oversee and complete the project
- Estherlee Fence Company to handle fence repairs
- Jason Rubin of CR Electric to manage electrical work
