COLUMBIANA, Ohio - An electric outage left hundreds of folks in the northern part of Columbiana without power Sunday evening.

City officials there say a piece of equipment at its substation was experiencing a catastrophic failure due to high temperatures.

City Manager Lance Willard tells 21 News the part had to be replaced before that happened, leading crews bypass that part until it could be replaced.

Power was restored within a few hours.

Around 300 people were impacted from the outage.
