AUSTINTOWN - The suspect in a shooting that occurred outside of an Austintown bar has been indicted.

According to a Mahoning County grand jury report, 21-year-old Xavier Yochman was indicted on a felonious assault charge with a three-year firearm specification.

The charge stems from a shooting that occurred outside of Chipper's Sports Bar on North Edgehill Avenue back in November of 2025.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument between Yochman and a male victim that started inside the bar and later continued outside, where a witness inside the bar reported hearing four to five shots fired.

Yochman was later found and arrested in the Lake Milton area, where he allegedly told police the victim took off his shirt and wanted to fight, so he felt the need to defend himself.

However, Yochman allegedly admitted that the victim never actually struck him or attempted to do so.
