Mercer man charged with strangulation for second time

A Mercer County man has been accused of trying to strangle someone for the second time in three months.

FINDLEY TWP., Pa. - A Mercer County man has been accused of trying to strangle someone for the second time in three months.

According to court records, 31-year-old Justin Hile of Mercer Borough was on house arrest for a previous offense when he attempted to strangle a 33-year-old Sharon woman on Mercer-Grove City Road in Findley Township.

State police say a verbal argument escalated into a physical dispute that resulted in Hile choking and assaulting the victim on Sunday.

Hile has been charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment.

The alleged incident happened as Hile is waiting for trial on charges of strangulation, assault, and criminal mischief filed after a June 1 incident.

On June 21 Hile's $30,000 bond was reduced to $5,000, and he was placed on electronically-monitored house arrest.
