HUBBARD, Ohio- A Hubbard company is working with the Environmental Protection Agency to detect bacterial threats in drinking and source water.

Nanologix has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the EPA to design rapid diagnostic technology to detect bacteria such as e. coli.

CEO Bret Barnhizer said in a news release that the agreement is a huge step forward for the company.

"It's been a long process to achieve this multi-year CRADA and we are pleased to be able to collaborate with the EPA on improving the safety and quality of the U.S. national water supply," Barnhizer said in the statement.
