YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Congressman Tim Ryan says the fight for high speed rail in the region is still on.

Ryan tells 21 News several congressmen and women from the region met with the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.

"We are still trying to get some money to do the study from Pittsburgh to Youngstown to Cleveland to Toledo to Chicago, which would really energize this area of the world.  It would facilitate research between Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon. This whole region could really develop. Where you could get on a train and go see the Steelers or go see the Cavs, the Indians, or whatever, it would be great economic development.," Ryan said.

The proposed high speed rail would travel at about 110 miles an hour.
