WARREN, Ohio - After exhausting all efforts to stay open, Patriot Water Treatment in Warren is forced to close its doors.

Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew Logan granted the Environmental Protection Agency's request for dismissal in its case against Patriot Water Treatment on Friday.

Earlier this week Patriot Water Treatment requested a stay from the Environmental Review Appeal Commission. That commission believes Patriot water does not have the proper procedure to treat the brine water which is 99% of Patriot's business.

"We have over 15 months of weekly data that documents there is no issue and they've produced not one piece of paper that documents anything other than that," said Patriot Water Treatment owner Andrew Blocksom.

"We have no remedy under law to keep our business open, so now we have to give a two week notice to our employees to wind down our business in essence because someone wants to issue a permit without causing to shut my business down," Blossom said.

Blocksom was hoping Friday's ruling would have allowed his company to continue operations during the permit dispute. A hearing is scheduled on the matter in Columbus April 24th.
