VERNON TWP, Ohio - The Trumbull County Fire Investigation Unit is looking for the cause a fire that gutted a home on Warner Road Thursday morning.

The resident of the home told Burghill-Vernon Fire Chief George Snyder that she was awakened by her dog around 6 a.m., to find her bedroom full of smoke.

The woman ran out of the house with her dog and called 9-1-1.

Firefighters arrived to find flames coming through the roof, and summoned help from fire departments in Orangeville, Hartford, Kinsman, Bazetta, Johnston, and Fowler.

Chief Snyder says it appears that the blaze spread from the back of the house and gutted the interior.

The Trumbull County Sheriff's Department shut down Warner Road between State Route 88 and Beach Smith Road for more than two hours.

No one was injured.
