Doctors have provided an update on the recovery of four-year-old Jamie, the Trumbull County foster child who received a life saving liver transplant May 27th.

Jamie awakened from an induced coma this week and opened her eyes. Marilyn Pape from Trumbull county Children's Services says the good news is that the whites of Jamie's eyes are white again, which is a sign that the transplanted liver is functioning.

Jamie remains in serious, but stable condition in I-C-U at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Doctors say her recovery is slower than they would like, but they remain optimistic.

Dave Denovchek, who donated part of his liver is recovering at his Niles home.
