YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Struthers man whose car crashed into a fast food restaurant faces criminal charges.
The Mahoning County Grand Jury handed up a four count indictment on Thursday, charging 21-year-old Anthony Williams with operating a vehicle under the influence, felonious assault, possessing a drug abuse instrument and failing to comply with a police order.
Prosecutors say Williams attempted to harm a Boardman Police officer on May 10, when his car ran into the Burger King on Midlothian Boulevard.
Police say they found Williams slumped over in his car and when they woke him up, he pushed on the gas pedal, driving into the restaurant.
They also say Williams rammed into a police cruiser while trying to elude officers.
During a search of the car, police found a syringe.
