NILES, Ohio - Last week, a suspicious fire in Niles destroyed thousands of dollars in merchandise, intended to raise money for the high school football team.
Thursday night, at the teams first game of the season, the Niles Football Mother's Booster Club set-up a make-shift tent where they sold tee-shirts and hats donated after word spread that their stand, known as the "Dragon Wagon" had burned.
"All the support people come through the gate and give us hugs and it just makes you want to cry these people are reaching out to us and they want to help. Niles is a big football town and it's good to see all the good in the community," said President of the Niles Football Mother's Booster Club Michele Golias.
The money raised will go toward the team's football banquet at the end of the year.
To donate: Checks can be made out to "The Niles Football Mother's" and sent to P.O. Box 214 Niles, Ohio 44446.
