YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown city schools CEO Krish Mohip is trying to repair his relationship with the board of education.
In an email to board members, Mohip says the district will not be able to sustain success unless the they can put aside their differences and work together.
Mohip is proposing two days of mediation and professional development.
While board member Dario Hunter agrees there is a problem, he says the biggest issue is Mohip's lack of transparency and communication.
“The result of that has been a lot of blow back not just from members of the board, but from members of the community, from parents. Parents contact me all the time about how they feel the CEO isn't really open with them and doesn't call them back in a timely fashion,” said Hunter.
Hunter says he hasn't decided if he will take Mohip up on his offer. However, he does say this shouldn't be about the CEO and the school board, but about the relationship between the district and the entire community, including students and parents.
