Police and a SWAT team surrounded a house in Struthers Saturday evening.

Initial reports indicated an armed man barricaded himself inside of the home around 7:30 p.m. on the 400 block of Garfield Street.

The street was blocked between 4th Street to Lincoln Street.

Police say the man refused to come outside, but the situation ended shortly before 11 p.m.

The Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team was called to the scene to assist with the standoff.

Captain D.J. Aldish says the man was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation and will face a charge of inducing panic.

Some neighbors were left standing in the rain during all of this because they weren't allowed to re-enter their homes.

It's unknown if anyone was arrested or if anyone else was inside of the home.
