LORDSTOWN, Ohio - A rally in support of TJX coming to Lordstown will be held on Monday, August 20, from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m at the UAW 1714 Union Hall, located at 2121 Salt Springs Road in Lordstown.
Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka informed 21 News that this is an event campaigning in favor of keeping a zone change in place.
There will be hot dogs and refreshments available at the event.
The following is a statement from Polivka:
"This is a positive project with a $160 million investment in our area. They have agreed to a buffer zone to protect the neighborhood. I have the utmost respect for the nearby neighbors. I feel with this being a warehouse and not burning or producing anything, it is a good fit and will be beneficial in the long run. Commissioner Mauro Cantalamessa and Frank Fuda support the initiative and will be joining me there Monday. I would also like to thank the UAW and President Dave Green for helping to pull this together quickly and for allowing us to utilize the pavilion area."
