Youngstown installs new garbage bins to help keep South Avenue Corridor clean
City officials have come together to help keep the South Avenue Corridor clean.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - City officials have come together to help keep the South Avenue Corridor clean.
The area is home to more than 60 Youngstown businesses.
With a $2,500 grant, 10 garbage bins will be installed along South Avenue from the bridge downtown up to Midlothian Boulevard.
These bins sport a bright blue logo that reads "take pride south side" to encourage citizens to keep the area clean.
"It becomes a habit for everyone, and if they see that it's not acceptable along the major corridor it hopefully will become a habit in the mentality of people that it's not ok to litter," said Jennifer Jones, the Green Youngstown Program Coordinator
They are also encouraging South Avenue businesses to put up signs that say "crime: report it, don't support it."
The South Ave Business Association and the city of Youngstown are working on this effort together to help keep the city clean.
