NILES, Ohio - In Niles, two sets of triplets walked across the graduating stage. One of the families graduating with two valedictorians.

In the sea of caps and gowns, it can be difficult for parents to pick out their graduate from the crowd.

Some wear unique decorative caps to help tell a short part of their story.
But, in this graduating class one story rises to the top with not one, but two sets of triplets.

"It's pretty unique to have one and to have two that's even better," said Mario Gioiello.

The two sets are the Gioiello Family and the Clementi Family.

The two oldest from the Gioielle are valedictorians.

"Ever since we were little we always wanted to be better than each other," said Mario.

The second in line, Elena Gioiello, agrees, "We studied together at first and then when he would do better than me I would get mad and I would try to do better than him. And it went back and forth and now we are here."

The youngest of the three  whose 3.9 GPA is nothing to discount said it was having plenty of minds to pick from that propelled them to the top.

"Always having someone right next you you, being able to - like if you didn't understand something maybe they would," said Jolena Gioiello.

Each of the three now have their eye on their future. But, the next time they walk across a graduating stage it won't be together. They each plan to attend different universities with different career paths in mind.
