CANFIELD, Ohio - Small businesses in Canfield Township sustained enough damage in the May 28 storm to qualify for low-interest loans to clean up, according to our print partner The Vindicator.

The announcement comes after heavy rain caused flooding in Canfield, Boardman, and Poland.

Flooding caused significant damage to peoples homes, businesses, and even a Valley school.

Boardman residents concerned about the recent flooding took their concerns to township officials who say they are working to make improvements to alleviate those water runoff issues.

Canfield residents showed up to their city council meeting to ask for help as flooding damage plagues their homes.

Canfield officials say they are concerned and are aware of issues including water damage and infrastructure, but a lot of work is needed to help get through this.

Boardman Township Administrator Jason Loree said the newly formed ABC Water and Storm District will have a regular board meeting at 2 pm on Wednesday to discuss the flooding that occurred during the May storm.
