Speed was a factor in an All-Terrain-Vehicle crash that claimed the life of Warren G. Harding student Jeremiah Barnes, and injured a teenage passenger.

According to the traffic report, Warren police estimate that Barnes was driving the ATV about 50 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone when it failed to make a curve on Parkwood Drive NW and struck a utility pole on Friday.

Seventeen-year-old Barnes, who would have been a senior at WGH, was thrown from the ATV and died as a result.

A 13-year-old passenger was also thrown from the ATV. He was treated for minor injuries at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
