A man arrested as he was walking along Market Street in Youngstown is going back to Lawrence County to face prosecution in the stabbing death of an eight-year-old boy.
That's the result of an extradition hearing held Thursday morning in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for Keith Burley, Jr. who appeared with an attorney and waived extradition.
Lawrence County District Attorney Josh Lamancusa has already told 21 News that he will seek the death penalty for Burley, who witnesses say repeatedly stabbed eight-year-old Mark Mason at a home on High Street in Union Township.
At least two other juveniles witnessed the fatal stabbing.
Burley, Jr. left the scene and was arrested later that day in Youngstown.
Police were on hand in court to immediately transport Burley back to Lawrence County to face prosecution.
