Half-million dollar donation awarded to Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - As you walk into Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre, you'll notice a Home Savings Bank logo on a kiosk and signs.
It will remain that way for the next ten years because of the $500,000 donation presented on the stage in front of a crowded audience there for the Youngstown Wine and Jazz Festival Saturday night.
"We picked this venue and this opportunity because of what it did for the community and the fact that we will be supporting some concerts that are free to the community and so forth," said Home Savings Bank CEO Gary Small.
The half-million dollars goes a long way.
JAC's Eric Ryan said it keeps the costs of tickets down, allows for free events and even plays into what acts are booked.
While The Youngstown Wine and Jazz Festival was ticketed, dozens of people filled the lawn.
"To receive a half million dollars to help the community to come down and enjoy a facility built specifically for them, it is amazing, and it makes things cheaper, it makes things more inviting so that everyone can come down and enjoy this venue," said Councilman Julius T. Oliver.
