The weekend will get underway with more blazing heat and oppressive humidity. Temperatures will climb into the lower and mid 90s with heat indices around 100-105 degrees in the afternoon. There may be a shower or thunderstorm in parts of the area overnight.
A higher chance for wet weather is in the forecast for Sunday. Any thunderstorm could be on the strong side. When there is no rain in the area, temperatures will be quite warm with elevated humidity once again. A few more showers and thunderstorms will linger into Sunday night and Monday. Drier air will finally arrive Monday night and the rest of next week looks rain-free and pleasant.
