HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is searching for input from motorists for their online Highway Safety Survey.

The survey, which can be found here, received 6,000 responses last year asking the public about various driving behaviors.

PennDOT Secretary Leslie Richards said having an understanding of driving tendencies is crucial to highway safety.

"The results from this annual survey help us gauge participants' attitudes on highway safety and allow us to adjust our safety activities as we work to reduce crashes and fatalities," she said.

Last year's survey reported that roughly 91 percent of participants said they always wear a belt.

Eighty-eight percent of respondents also said they never drive impaired.

The survey is open until Aug. 12, and all responses are anonymous.
