YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown police are investigating after a man was shot in the head on the city's north side Thursday evening. 

Police say the victim has been taken to the hospital and is in stable condition at this time. 

The shooting happened outside of a home on Thornton Avenue around 7: 00 p.m. 

Police say they are investigating leads, but no one has been arrested at this time. 

There were several shell casings recovered at the scene.
