Flags lowered to honor Ashtabula County soldier
Ohio's Governor has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at public buildings in Ashtabula County and Columbus to honor the life and service of a soldier who died over the weekend.
Corporal Thomas Cole Walker, of Conneaut, Ohio, and two other U.S. Army soldiers were killed early Sunday morning when their armored vehicle rolled off a bridge and submerged in water during training in Fort Stewart, Georgia.
Governor DeWine has ordered that all U.S. and Ohio flags be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings and grounds in Ashtabula County, and at the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus.
Flags shall remain lowered until sunset on the day of Cpl. Walker's funeral.
