SOUTHINGTON TWP. - Southington Township residents' natural gas service has been saved after it was announced service could be shut off in September.

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) authorized the transfer of assets from One Source Energy LLC, to Northeast Ohio Natural Gas Corp (NEO).

NEO will now provide natural gas distribution service to One Source's customers.

In July, PUCO filed a complaint that One Source Energy had not been following state laws.

Eighty-nine customers in the township could have lost service due to One Source Energy's ownership of the gas lines, and no other options were available for customers.

Residents in the area will continue to receive uninterrupted natural gas service.
