The holidays are approaching, and with that comes extended mail hours for the U.S. Postal Service.

According to the release, USPS mail carriers could be on the streets earlier and later than normal to meet the demands of the holiday season.

The Postal Service says the public should not be alarmed if they see mail carriers out during the early morning or evening hours.

USPS asks the public to report anything suspicious related to the postal employees to help keep the carriers safe. The USPS inspection service phone number to report tips is 877-876-2455.

Residents can also download Informed Delivery for updates on package deliveries.
