Lemony Tilapia

4 tilapia fillets


Black pepper

5 tbsp. melted butter

3 teaspoons minced garlic

1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes

Juice and zest from 1/2 a lemon

1 lemon, sliced into rounds

May add sliced Kalamata olives before baking

Chopped parsley and fresh grated parmesan cheese for garnish

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.  Then carefully season the tilapia with salt and pepper and place on a small baking sheet or 13 by 9-inch baking dish. 

Mix together the butter, garlic, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, and zest and pour over tilapia. Place lemon rounds on top and around tilapia.  

Bake tilapia for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven or until fish is fork-tender. 

If you want you can place the cooked tilapia under the broiler for a crisper finish.
