BOARDMAN, Ohio - The Boardman High School boy's basketball team is set to honor military veterans Friday in their game against Canfield.

To honor military members, all current military and veterans with ID will be admitted to the game for free.

The Boardman Pep Band will also perform at the game with special honors to active military and veterans.

The Spartans are 9-0 on the season, their best start in nearly 40 years and host Canfield at 7 p.m.

The OHSAA asked all schools to participate and host a Military Appreciation Night, and Boardman was happy to be apart of the statewide event.

"Boardman is so excited to be a part of this effort," said Athletic Director Marco Marinucci. "Our athletes know the dedication and hard work it takes to excel on the court, and they truly admire the dedication and sacrifice our veterans and military men and women make daily. We are honored to have them cheer us to 10 and 0."
