YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Valley sports talk radio host who had recently left the airwaves is making a comeback.

Ron Potesta, who had previously hosted a sports show on AM 1390,  will host "Running Point" beginning March 2 on YSNLive.com.

Potesta announced he'd be leaving the airwaves after being laid off as part of a national downsizing at iHeart Media earlier this month.

The new broadcast, which will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the local sports site, will focus on local sports at the high school level, as well as Youngstown State.  Also, Potesta will broadcast YSU baseball home games and some road games.

DJ Yokley and Steve Leslie of YSN approached Potesta after Sports Wrap, his old show on 1390,  ended, and they began working on the idea for the new show.

Potesta said the new show would be very similar to Sports Wrap, which he said is a natural fit for the Mahoning Valley.

"The more we talked about it, the more it made sense. There's no local sports radio per se in the Youngstown market, and this will fill a need that's pretty obvious to Youngstown sports fans," Potesta said.
