The USHL Board of Governors has unanimously voted to cancel the remainder of the 2019-2020 regular season and playoffs.

USHL Commissioner Tom Garrity said, “The decision was not an easy one to make, but was a necessity in order to keep our athletes, staffs and fans in all 16 of our communities safe amid the international health risk.  While we believe our product is the best junior hockey that fans can view, we also understand the health of our athletes, employees, fans and communities is more important during this time.”

The USHL will announce the 2019-2020 season awards in the coming weeks.

The Youngstown Phantoms want to thank our players for not only their incredible performance on the ice, but their commitment to the community as a whole. This was truly an exceptional group of young men. Those players who are moving on to play college hockey next year will be missed.

We also want to thank our fans for supporting the team with such passion this year.  We wish all of you good health during this time period and look forward to seeing you during better times ahead.

Billet families provide our players with a home away from home and are the lifeblood of a Junior Hockey Team.  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all that you do.

The Phantoms will do our best to address and all questions in the coming weeks.  Please follow our website www.youngstownphantoms.com or email us at info@youngstownphantoms.com to get the latest news from the Phantoms and the USHL.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall for the 2020-2021 season.
