A coalition of our area philanthropic, corporate, and civic partners have joined together to create the Trumbull County COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund.

The fund will be used to help Trumbull County non-profits as they continue to work to help those who are fighting the coronavirus pandemic in the county.

From corporate donors to individuals just trying to give a dollar or two. That's what makes up the rapid response fund which has already
rasied $50,000.

"Primarily this fund is focusing on funding those entities, those non-profits who are already out there providing that work. Meals on Wheels, the Warren Family Mission, Someplace Safe, all these folks on the ground who need the resources to continue doing the work they have," said James Dignan.

"It's very important to have mopney set aside that can deployed rapidly into the community to satisfy the needs of the organizations who truly on the frontlines. They are helping the people on day to day basis. It is imperative that they have the materials they need," said Kyle English, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of W PA and E Ohio.

Some of those of those funds have already been given our primarily to non-profits who deal with hunger. St. Vincent Depaul is one of the only places that are still providing hot meals to those in need right now. Trumbull mobile meals and also the Salvation Army which is providing meals to go.

The fund will also help orgnizations provide shelter and housing for those in need, health services and assistance through other programs that do not have access to government funding.
