HERMITAGE, Pa. - Hermitage fire crews battled a massive blaze at a home Saturday evening.

The call went out at 5:08 p.m. for a fully-involved house fire on Virginia Road.

When crews got there, the house was already covered in flames, which were pouring out of every window.

Hermitage Fire Chief John Flynn said the home is a total loss, and no one was home at the time.

He said one firefighter was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but no one was injured.

One house to the east did suffer some heat damage.

The department was assisted by seven other fire departments, including Clark, West Middlesex, Shenango, Jefferson, Mercer, East End and New Wilmington.

Chief Flynn said they were not near hydrants, so they called in a lot of the departments for water supply.

He said they do not have a cause yet for the fire.
