200 face shields donated to Mercer County poll workers

Mercer County, Pa. - The Community Response Foundation of Western Pennsylvania (CRFWPA) has donated 200 PPE Face Shields to the Mercer County Board of Elections.
The donation is in preparation for the June 2 primary election.
Mercer County currently has 105 cases of coronavirus reported.
The face shields are designed to help slow the spread of the virus and to protect the poll workers.
All 90 precincts should receive face shields through donations from the CRFWPA.
The PPE donations are much needed for election workers. Wisconsin previously held their elections during the pandemic and 52 voters and election workers contracted COVID-19 as a result.
The donation is expected to cover 60% of volunteer and county poll workers.
"We are very appreciative of the effort of Michael Muha and the Community Response Foundation of Western Pennsylvania to provide these face shields to help protect our poll workers on June 2," said Director of Elections Jeff Greenburg.
"Election workers, particularly those who run our precincts, are the foundation of our democracy and for this group to consider assisting them in this way is a remarkable act of generosity and kindness. These moments of hope are much needed during a time of such difficulty."
