One of two suspects arrested for vandalism, arson at Weathersfield power plant

WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio - Weathersfield Township Police say one of two men suspected of causing thousands of dollars in damage to a now-closed power plant has been arrested.
Just a few hours after felony arrest warrants were issued for Joshua Davis, 20, of McDonald and Tommy Murphy, 42, of Youngstown, police say Joshua Davis was taken into custody. Davis was booked into the Trumbull County Jail shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.
The two are wanted for the April 22, 2020, break-in and vandalism at the Gen-On Power Plant, 1047 Belmont Avenue.
Police said windows were broken, offices and other areas were ransacked, and a pump house was set on fire.
Although the plant has been closed since 2012, police were able to view videos from some security cameras that were still working.
The warrants are for breaking and entering, vandalism and arson.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Murphey is being asked to contact the Weathersfield Township Police Department at 330-652-6486. Ask for Det. Sgt. Lowery or Capt. Hodge.
