The Mahoning County Farm Bureau is helping out the Second Harvest Food Bank in a big way.

The organization delivered 2,500 pounds of chicken, beef and pork today.

The donation will provide nearly 21,000 meals.

Mike Iberis with Second Harvest Food Bank said, "THIS JUST SHOWS HOW THE PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY COME TOGETHER WHEN THERE are NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS THAT ARE IN NEED. SO THIS DONATION WILL CONTINUE TO BE MORE SUPPORT ON WHAT THE FARM BUREAU LENDS ON A REGULAR BASIS."

Twenty-five members of the National Guard are also still helping with food distribution and sanitation requirements within the warehouse.
