Ohio reports more than 17,000 coronavirus cases over two-day period

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio coronavirus numbers are inching closer to 400,000 COVID-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that the state has 399,808 total cases as of Friday. That puts the two-day total of positive cases at 17,065.
The daily average for the last seven days is 9,197.
There have been 72 deaths and 474 new hospitalizations over the two-day period with total deaths now 6,346.
Increased case numbers and hospitalizations over the past month are impacting the state's healthcare system and put the state behind due to technical issues in reporting.
The Public Health Advisory System currently has four counties in the highest risk (purple) level: Franklin, Lake, Lorain, and Montgomery.
Mahoning County has 7,985 total cases, 687 hospitalizations and 301 deaths.
Trumbull County reported two new deaths and 215 new cases Friday for a total number of 5,737 cases. There have been 521 hospitalizations and 149 deaths.
Columbiana County has a total of 3,765 cases, 306 hospitalizations and 99 deaths.
