CNBC host to discuss Lordstown Motors truck

LORDSTOWN, Ohio - An electric-powered pickup truck that will be made in Lordstown is expected to receive the endorsement of businessman and TV personality Marcus Lemonis.
A news conference has been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon with Lordstown Motors CEO Steve Burns and Lemonis, who is the Chairman and CEO of Camping World, and star of CNBC’s “The Profit”, a show about saving small businesses.
For the past few weeks, Lemonis has been tweeting videos about the “Endurance”, the pickup truck that Lordstown Motors Corporation plans to manufacture inside the former General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown.
In videos tweeted on Monday, Lemonis talks about learning more about the Endurance by removing the body to expose what’s underneath.
Instead of being powered by one engine, the Endurance uses four electric motors on each of the four wheels. Designers say that concept will lower maintenance costs among other advantages.
In October, LMC enlisted the help of the 2019 Heisman Trophy winner and Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Joe Burrow to help promote the truck.
LMC recently partnered with acquisition company DiamondPeak Holdings to raise $675 million selling shares on NASDAQ.
